Build Your First SEO Campaign: Even the “New Guy” Can Do It

Planning to build your first SEO campaign can be a daunting task for new B2B marketers. Where do I even start? Is this going to cost me a lot? How many keywords do I need to have? How can I tell if this is even driving people to my website? These are all questions a first time, online marketer asks when planning to build their first SEO campaign and I am certainly no exception.

Most first time, online marketers just want to scream at the computer during their first SEO campaign

I started working here at Optify 5 days ago. Yes, 5 days ago. After learning everyone’s name in the office, setting up my desk and studying our inbound marketing software, I kept hearing how easy it was to build a SEO campaign.

Easy? What is easy about planning, executing and optimizing a complex SEO campaign? You have to develop your keyword list, have your web developers build landing pages and links, track visitors and leads, and then analyze your data to make sense of it all.

It is essential to an online marketer to find the most effective and efficient way to drive traffic to your website. It sounds a lot easier than it actually is, especially if you don’t have the right tools to do so. Building your first SEO campaign can take time, cost more money than you have and maybe cause you to lose a little sleep at night. With all of those obstacles to overcome, I decided to put Optify’s Inbound Marketing Software to the test using our own guide, “Build Your SEO Campaign with Optify in 15 minutes”.

After identifying my target keyword, fixing a few errors on my web page (this blog post), and using Twitter for Business to share my content through my social media outlets, I was done!

Now the waiting game begins.

How many people are going to read this post? Have people clicked on my links? Hopefully I didn’t misspell anything since this is my first blog post…

In all seriousness, building your first SEO campaign can be overwhelming at first but there are ways to shorten that learning process and be a pro at SEO in no time. If after 5 days in a new industry and at a new company I can build an SEO campaign, I am sure you can too!
