What’s New: Lists, SEO Details and More Guided Training

Posted by Scott Dunn on August 17th, 2011

We’re very proud of the new features Optify is bringing you this month.  You’ll find streamlined ways to add elements to custom lists, detailed info from the Pages help, and more built-in automated guidance in the Keywords app.

Streamlined List Management

Lists are a good way to organize keywords, links, and pages.  Moreover, lists make fast work of filtering reports to show info for your custom set. Starting with this release, a drop-down list lets you choose from existing lists or type in the name of a new one in following areas:

  • Keywords: The Keywords Suggestion dialog box and the Add Keywords dialog box
  • Pages: The Add Pages dialog box
  • Links:  The Add URLs The Add Keywords dialog box

Once you have a list, you can filter the tables of lists in these applications to see only the items you want.  And in the case of keywords, lists also simplify the process of creating reports. Just use the Filter by list option on the left to get results just for the keywords in your desired list.

Pages Enhancements

The Pages app has even more to brag about: For starters, the Issues tab as well as any Page Detail Report, now offers enhanced pop-up messages to help you understand any optimization problems your pages may have.  For example, in addition to the existing advice, the pop-up message may include specific info from your website’s page to help you find the precise area that needs attention.

But wait, there’s more! As you may know, a Page Detail Report displays items from your keyword list in the Optimize With box in the upper right. There you can check which keywords you want to use to optimize that page. But if you check more than three, Optify now warns you that you could be limiting the effectiveness of your search strategy. If you don’t like to see this warning, you can check the box to stop it from appearing again.

Keywords Enhancements

Last but not least, the Keywords app offers new features beyond the previously mentioned list management options. For example, Keywords page now has an automated tutorial, or “trainer” just like the one recently added to the Lead Intelligence and Lead Detail apps.  If you don’t see it, just click the golden tab at the bottom of the window to get a guided tour of the app and its features.

This release also makes it easier to specify competitors so you can monitor and compare your success to companies you designate.  If you haven’t specified any competitors yet, choosing Competitors from the Keyword List’s View menu prompts you to add some. Just click Add Competitors in the prompt to see a dialog box that lets you enter the name and web address of your competitors.  If you run out of lines for competitors, click the Add More link to add more boxes to the form. When you’re done, click Save.

We hope you enjoy the new and improved features!
